Making money from pinning on Pinterest is actually one of the easier ways to make money online because it does not require any additional costs.

You can make money pinning on Pinterest with Affiliate Marketing. You post affiliate links, which are specialized links that an affiliate program assigned to you.

Affiliate marketing is a process of where you can earn commission for promoting a product, company or service. For every sale you make, you can earn commission.

Follow these 6 simple steps to make money from Pinning on Pinterest with Affiliate Marketing.

Set up your Pinterest account for success.

In order to make money with Pinterest, you need to have a Pinterest Business Account.

If you don’t have a Pinterest Business account, you can either convert your personal account or create a new Pinterest Business Account.

Next you will want to optimize your Pinterest Account for success so your pins will be seen on Pinterest. This includes creating Pinterest Boards related to your Niche and adding Pins to them.

PICK YOUR NICHE

Before you start pinning affiliate links on Pinterest, you will need to pick your Niche.

Some Niches are more popular than others. So, it’s best to do some research when picking your niche.

When deciding on a Niche, you will to check to see if that Niche’s audience is using Pinterest to search for ideas.

Keep in mind, some niches have a stronger following that others but you want to pick a niche that interests you. If you pick a niche that you are not interested in, you will probably lose interest overtime.

Sign up with an Affiliate Program

Once you create a Pinterest Business Account and picked a Niche, you are going to want to join affiliate programs.

You want to join affiliate programs for products and services you want to promote and that is related to your Niche.

When you sign up with an affiliate program, make sure to read their terms and conditions to understand the rules of the affiliate program.

Create a Paypal Account and/or Separate Bank Account

Many Affiliate programs will pay your commission via PayPal. So, if you don’t already have a PayPal account, I suggest creating one.

I also suggest creating a bank account with a savings account attached to it that is separate from your personal bank account. Some companies can do direct deposits to your bank account so you don’t always need to use PayPal.

Link the new bank account to your PayPal account so you can easily transfer your money to your account for the affiliate companies that pay via PayPal.

Keep in mind that Affiliate companies do not take out taxes when they pay commission. Depending on where you live, you will probably have to pay taxes on any commission you make.

I suggest every time you get paid, transfer a percentage to your savings account. Hold the money there for taxes. When it’s time to do your taxes, in case you owe money, you will always have it stashed away in your savings account.

DO YOUR RESEARCH

Pinterest is a search engine. People go to Pinterest to search for new ideas and inspiration. There are over 400 million people who use Pinterest every single month.

You’ll need to do some research to understand how Pinterest works and how to target your audience. You can’t just post a Pin and hope that people will see it.

You need a Pinterest Marketing Strategy.

You will also need to do Pinterest Keyword Research so you know what keywords to list in your Pin descriptions and Pin titles.

Now that you have created and optimized your Pinterest Account, decided on a niche, joined affiliate programs, and did some research, now it is time to Create Affiliate Pins for Pinterest.

You want to create affiliate pins for items in your niche. Use great descriptions with keywords and hashtags. The Pin URL will be your affiliate link that links back to the merchant you want to promote.

When someone clicks on your Pinterest Pin with your affiliate link attached, they’ll go to the retailer’s website. If they purchase something, you can make commission on the sale.
