What is Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is the process of promoting and/or referring products or services and earning a commission from the sale.

Once accepted into an affiliate marketing program, you will be able to create affiliate links, which exclusive URLS that track how many clicks and sales are generated from them.

There is no charge for the buyer to purchase a product or service through your affiliate link. When they click your link, they will be brought to the retailer’s website to complete the purchase.

The affiliate company will pay you commission of the sale since you ultimately brought the buyer to their website.

WHERE TO PROMOTE YOUR AFFILIATE LINKS

There are multiple ways you can promote your affiliate links.

The most common way bloggers use affiliate marketing is by sharing their affiliate links in their blog posts.

If you don’t have a blog or if you want to expand your online business, you can also post affiliate links on your social platforms!

Many affiliate programs will allow you to post affiliate links directly on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn! Just make sure you read their terms as they will let you know where you can/cannot post affiliate links.

You can also add affiliate links to your own digital content, such as an E-Book.

Just make sure you read the affiliate programs terms and conditions before you start promoting affiliate links to understand where you can and cannot post affiliate links Keep in mind, each program will have their own rules.

MagicLinks

MagicLinks is a great affiliate program network that is easy to use and partners with thousands of different brands. They offer two paying models: pay per sale and pay per click.

Everyone shops with Amazon so there is an extremely high chance you will make money with their affiliate program.

I buy almost everything I need on Amazon. I would be lost without Amazon Prime.

The only downside to Amazon is that they do have a short cookie window. But since they are a very popular online retailer, I still suggest every blogger use them.

How many affiliate pins do you post daily? I have tried this and am not getting traffic.

    • Kelly says

      February 27, 2019 at 8:10 PM

I usually post about 50 pins per day. They are all scheduled through Tailwind. The 50 include: my blog posts pins, affiliate pins, and other people’s pins. Are the affiliate pins you post related to the other content you pin on pinterest?

      • Sheila says

        February 27, 2019 at 9:16 PM

My most popular board according to Pinterest and Tailwind is “Pottery “ I have been creating affiliate Pins in this niche.

    February 27, 2019 at 9:20 PM

I think I need to make many more Pins. Pottery is a very small niche and I am still searching for communities I can follow and join within this topic. I am making headway but I want to learn whatever I can. If you have any suggestions, I am willing to learn.

There are so many different affiliate programs out there. Definitely branch out. It’s good to use a mix of companies so you don’t rely on just one company (such as Amazon). Other companies have better cookie windows than Amazon.
