If you want to learn how to make money blogging then you are in the right place.
It doesn’t matter if you just started blogging or if you have been blogging for years. I am going to tell you exactly how you can make money from your blog.
I started blogging almost 2 years ago and I was able to make money right from the start from following these blogging strategies. While I don’t make a full time income from blogging, but I am able to make 5 figures a year.
Blogging is a side-hustle for me. I work the 9-5 grind so I only blog part time. I MADE $10,000 MY FIRST YEAR BLOGGING PART TIME. And it has only gone up from there.
I know I am no where near some other bloggers and that’s okay. I see the possibilities that some day I could quit my 9-5 and become a full time blogger.
HOW TO MAKE MONEY BLOGGING
When I first thought about starting a blog, it took me almost a year to actually start the blog. I had no idea where to start so I went to Pinterest for help.
I ended up learning how to make money from pinning on a Pinterest. So I focused on Pinterest for a solid year and learned everything I could about Pinterest and making money from affiliate marketing.
So while I still focus on making money from pinning on a Pinterest, I was ready to expand my side hustles so I started a blog. And now I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years.
So if you have been thinking about starting a blog, there is no better time than now. Check out my post How To Start A Money Making Blog. You can have your blog up and running in no time!
By the time I was ready to monetize this blog, I was able to make over $120.54 in the first month! Actually I made it in 3 weeks! I’m still in awe that I am able to make money blogging. I know I have a ways to go if I ever want to make 5 or 6 figures but I do see the potential. I’ve already made back the money I put into this blog and I have doubled my earnings every month.
How Bloggers MAke money Blogging
Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. If you are willing to put the effort in, it can pay off, literally.
In my first month monetizing my blog, I was able to make $120.54. While this is not an income you can live off, it’s proof that new bloggers can make money blogging.
HOSTING
In order to monetize your blog, you need to make sure your blog is set up correctly. Check out my post on How to start a blog so you can make sure your blog is set up the correct way.
Don’t use those free blogging platforms. Many of them have restrictions and limiations. Many free blogging platforms don’t let you monetize your blog. So if you want to be a serious blogger, you want to get a self-hosted blog.
The two most popular self-hosted platforms new bloggers use are Siteground and Bluehost. They are very affordable by starting at a few dollars per month.
THEME
A theme is what determines the look of your blog. There are many free themes available or you can purchase a theme. I’ve found to have more freedom with customizing the look of my blog by selecting a paid theme.
There are several places you can purchase themes from such as Etsy, HungryJPEG, and Creative Market. They vary in prices but you can find an affordable, beautiful theme.
Regardless if you go with a free theme or a paid theme, you want to build a blog that makes a good impression to your readers. By creating a beautiful designed blog, it will encourage your readers to read your blog, browse around your blog, subscribe to your blog, and ultimately return again.
If your blog is cluttered, messy, and not easy to follow or read, your readers will quickly click away from your blog.
The design of your blog will help to keep your readers on your blog.
AFFILIATE MARKETING
One of the easiest ways you can make money blogging is through Affiliate Marketing.
Affiliate Marketing is when you partner with companies and promote their product and/or services.
If you promote an item or service and your reader purchases the item through your link, the affiliate company will pay you commission. It all gets tracked through a special URL.
I have found Affiliate Marketing to be one of the easiest ways to make money blogging.
If you are not sure which Affiliate Programs to join, check out my post: Affiliate Programs You Should Join Today.
ADS
Ads are another popular way to make money blogging.
I was hesitant at first because I hate going to a website and it is covered in ads. So I knew if I wanted to add ADS to my blog, I wanted to have control on how many ads were placed. I didn’t want my blog to look spammy.
There are a few different ad companies you can use, but I recommend starting with Google Adsense. They work with new bloggers. Once you increase your traffic and have a steady amount every month, you can apply to more premium ad companies such as Mediavine
SPONSORED POSTS
In order to be a sucessful blogger, you will need to continue to grow your blog. Evetnually brands may contact you and ask you to write sponsored posts for them.
Brands could pay you money or in product and in return, you write a blog post about reviewing their product and/or services.
CREATE AND SELL DIGITAL PRODUCTS
Another way you can make money blogging is by creating and selling digital products such as an E-book, courses, printables, etc.
While I haven’t tried this yet, I’ve talked to several bloggers who do this and they highly recommend it.
I do plan on trying this further down the road. So once I do, I’ll report back and let you know how it goes. According to my research so far, it is a money-maker! So you should definitely look into it too!
Promote
Once your blog is ready to go, it’s time to promote your blog.
You can promote your blog through all your social channels (Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc). My favorite way to promote my blog is through Pinterest. Pinterest drives 80% of the traffic to my blog every month.

A Final Note
It is absolutely possible to make money blogging. I was able to make money blogging as a beginning. My first month I brought in over $100 and my first year I made over 5 figures blogging part-time.
However you decide to monetize your blog, just remember to treat your blog as a business. Blogging requires work and if you want it to pay off, you will need to put effort into it.
Blogging may get hard but stay positive and don’t give up.
