The newest Cricut Update is here and you are going to love it – Font Kerning Cricut Design Space.
I’m not sure why Cricut didn’t have Font Kerning from the start, but regardless, I’m so stoked they finally made this update.
Now you might be asking yourself – What is Kerning Cricut Design Space?
I’ll explain what Font Kerning is AND how it is going to make your life so much better when designing Cricut Projects in Cricut Design Space.
WHAT IS KERNING?
Font Kerning will save you so much time because it automatically adjusts the letters in the text to be evenly spaced.
And if you are using a cursive font, Font Kerning in Cricut will connect the letters for you.
When typing text in Cricut, space matters. And that is why Font Kerning will be so helpful. Font Kerning is the adjustment of the space between each letter in a text and will remove the extra space between each letter.
FONT KERNING CRICUT DESIGN SPACE
Cricut has finally optimized Cricut Design Space for Font Kerning!
So you can now have Kerned fonts in Cricut Design Space.
Prior to the Kerning Update, when you typed out your text, the letters were not evenly spaced. If it was a cursive font, they didn’t even touch.
You would have to manually connect letters in Design Space by ungrouping the letters and dragging them next to each.
Now, with the new Cricut Update, Cricut Design Space is optimized for Font Kerning. Now as you type out the text, the letters are spaced correctly.
HOW FONT KERNING WORKS
Font Kerning in Cricut is very easy and will save you so much time when creating Text Cricut Projects.
1 – Select Text and then select the font drop-down.

2 – Make sure the fonts are filtered with Kerning by checking the box next to “only Kerned Fonts”. Find a font you want to use for your text.

3. Once a font is selected, you’ll see your text will be Kerned.

WHAT IS Kerning Cricut Design Space
