Learn how to make Vinyl on Wine Glasses with a Cricut. DIY Wine Glasses are one of the easiest projects you make with your Cricut.

Wine Glasses make the best gift because you can easily personalize them any way you like.

You can design wine glasses with a personalized phrase of design. You can even make vinyl on wine glasses for every holiday.

DIY Wine Glasses are the perfect Cricut beginner project or when you want make a quick DIY gift. I also find creating sarcastic wine glasses help me when I’m in a creative rut.

Vinyl one Wine Glasses are very inexpensive to make and only require a few materials. (Assuming you already own a Cricut, Cutting Mat, and Basic Cricut Tools and you know what a Cricut does).

Materials

  • Wine Glasses – my favorite are Stemless Wine Glasses
  • Permanent Vinyl – in the color of your choice
  • Transfer Tape
  • Rubbing Alcohol Pad

TIPS FOR USING VINYL ON WINE GLASSES

If you love drinking wine, you are going to love creating your vinyl on wine glasses.

But before you get starting with creating your own wine glasses, you are going to want to learn these vinyl tips.

  1. Make sure the wine glasses has a smooth surface
  2. Since Wine Glasses are curved, don’t make the image too big. Smaller designs work better.
  3. Keep the design simple. Complicated designs can be harder to put on curved spaces.
  4. Cut slits into the transfer tape around your design to make it easier to apply.
  5. Always wipe the glass surface down with alcohol before applying your design.

HOW TO MAKE DIY WINE GLASSES WITH CRICUT

STEP 1 – Wash your wine glasses to ensure it is completely clean. Let Dry. Then wipe is down with an alcohol pad.

STEP 2 – Upload your design into Cricut Design Space. Once Design is ready to be cut, load the cutting mat and follow the prompts on your screen to cut the design with your Cricut

STEP 3 – Once Design is cut, weed out the excess vinyl.

STEP 4 – Cut a piece of Transfer Tape that is roughly the same size as your design. Remove the transfer tape backing and place the transfer tape sticky side over the design. Use the scraper tool to smooth out any bubbles. Flip Design over and use a scraper tool to burnish design onto the transfer tape.

STEP 5 – Slowly remove the vinyl backing so the design stays with the transfer tape.

STEP 6 – Now take your Wine Glass and carefully place the design on to the wine glasses. Press firmly over the design to make sure it sticks to wine glasses. Rub out any bubbles with your fingers.

STEP 7 – Carefully peel back the transfer tape, leaving the design on the wine glasses.

That’s it! You have now created your DIY Wine Glasses!
